Professional Snapshot:I am excited to once again be a part of Coonley Elementary's amazing staff. Over the past year I was living in Los Angeles, enjoying the sunshine and ocean; however, I decided it wasn't "home" and, ultimately, made the move back to Chicago.
I've had a colored history with Coonley, originally joining the staff as a Special Education Classroom Assistant in November 2017. From there, during 2018-2019 school year, I took on the role of a Special Education Resource Teacher and now, for the 2020-2021 school year, I am the 7th grade ELA teacher. Given my atypical path, you're probably wondering about my education. In late 2016, I graduated from DePaul University with a Master's Degree in Secondary Education English, and I've spent my time since then completing my Special Education, as well as, Social Studies endorsements. Outside of the classroom, I spent four years assistant coaching the Girl's Varsity Volleyball, as well as, the Boy's Junior Varsity Volleyball teams at Naperville Central High School. Then during the 2018-2019 school year at Coonley I was asked to try something new, and took on the role of Stage Manager for Coonley's Spring musical, The Little Mermaid. I'm thankful for the opportunity to once again expand my role at Coonley and I look forward to the strides my students & I will make together over the course of the 2020-2021 school year! |
